Nature of ethics & moral reasoning, relationship between ethics & law, ethics & religion, ethics & culture. Impact of ethical values on professional behaviours & responsibility. Basic concepts of medical ethics & medical law including consent, confidentiality, prejudice, disclosure & rights. Good medical practice. In depth knowledge of governance structures including the National Health Service, General Medical Council, health and care professions council and case studies of good practice.

It examines the core values of healthcare workers to treat others with respect and sensitivity to encourage effective teamwork, leadership and professionalism.
