Syllabus Nature of ethics & moral reasoning, relationship between ethics & law, ethics & religion, ethics & culture. Impact of ethical values on professional behaviours & responsibility. Basic concepts of medical ethics & medical law including consent, confidentiality, prejudice, disclosure & rights. Good medical practice. In depth knowledge of governance structures including the National Health Service, General Medical Council, health and care professions council and case studies of good practice.

Ethics Law and Values in Healthcare introduces the principles of philosophy of ethics, biomedical ethics and medical law and governance in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, allowing students to develop an ability to apply ethical guidance and understand the legal implications with medicine and healthcare practice. It examines the core values of healthcare workers to treat others with respect and sensitivity to encourage effective teamwork, leadership and professionalism.
